Stories For Your Enjoyment

Since my merchant account writing is on hold for the moment I thought I would share of couple of interesting stories I came across over the weekend. I hope they make your Monday a better day.

Abc_gma_lecture_prof_070921_mcThe first is a lecture from Randy Pausch, a 46-year-old Carnegie Mellon computer science professor who is has terminal cancer and has just a few more months to live. This is his last lecture entitled, “How to Live Your Childhood Dreams,” about his life’s journey and the lessons he’s learned. Take the time to at least watch the segment form Good Morning America:

Tal_logo_2The next story comes from one of my favorite radio shows, This American Life. Episode 192 from last weekend is entitled “Meet the Pros.” The whole show is very entertaining but in particular I enjoyed the story of a New Jersey teenager, Luis Da Silva, one of the stars of a popular series of Nike commercials featuring professional and amateur basketball players doing dribbling tricks. Luis didn’t even start for his high school basketball team, so how did he end up starring in a commercial with NBA stars? Listen:
